Don't ever give up!

18th March saw the completion of the frame for Sweet Peas and Runner Beans, there is now a trench running along the right hand side full of well rotted cow manure to feed the runner beans - in order to give a permanent home and avoid crop rotation and having to build a new wigwam every year

The frame is 8 metres long by 1.5 metres high.

The beans are growing well now and have almost reached the half way mark on the left hand side - the sweet peas on the right were cropped for the first time on Tuesday 13th June and do have a lovely light fragrance.

This shows some of the spuds with the runner bean/sweet pea frame in the back ground

The courgettes and pumpkins are in the foreground - we picked our first 2 courgettes on Tuesday 13th June

This shows the bottom end of the plot and the start of the bottom lawn just starting to go green, in the back ground is the Pig paddock with the small arc.

This is a shot across the veg plot - in the foreground are corn on the cob - beetroot - tomatoes - parsnips starting to come through - harricot beans just getting going - we are also growing celeriac & cauliflower

Wednesday 5th July

Todays crop of courgettes - this gives about 1.5 kg of frozen sliced courgettes

Apparently the pumpkins should only just be starting to grow - it appears that ours cannot read!

The melons are starting to set

The cherry tomatoes are already ripening - the main crop is well developed but has not started to ripen yet!

3 days ago - no sight of an aubergine - now about 12 starting to grow.

The peppers are delicious and we are leaving some to change colour - it is quite hard!
