Flower Garden

One of Ruth's new flower beds - with soaker hose to reduce water wastage
One of the planters in full flower.
Sunflowers growing well in the bed to screen the compost bins - the roses are in bud and the clematis has many flowers ready to blossom
Home made - but it works
This is an old electricity pylon that we found under a hedge - along with 2 others! The others have been re-housed with a local farmer - this one acts as a boundary between the veg patch and the bottom end of the garden. We will be planting dahlia's in the to help keep pests away from the vegetables when they are planted in April |
The raised bed is full of roses, lilac bushes, ribes, hydrangeas a weeping pear tree and lots more - at the moment it looks like a collection of dead sticks - however the buds are growing quickly and a little bit of warmth should see an explosion off colour. There are also a lot of bulbs that are just showing through and they too will bring some welcome colour.
On the left will be the herb garden - Ruth is planting seeds in the polytunnel ready to get going as soon as possible, the bed between the herbs and the well is full of small shrubs and a couple of roses.
The restored riddle is now out of the garage and just waiting for some cascading flowers to go in the top section.
The trough is full of bulbs just waiting for some warmer weather.
With Corrie & Ron's chickens in residence we had to finish the windows and also put in mesh to stop wild birds getting in, the troughs will soon be full of colour as the bulbs are showing through, just some warmth and they should be fine - a few buds a showing on the climbers but otherwise little activity. |
